
PATHWAY 2 - Applicants who have a relevant Australian qualification
There are four steps under this assessment process for applicants who do not have a relevant Australian qualification:
1) Select MIBT as your TRA-approved RTO
2) Submit your documentary evidence
You must submit decision ready* documentary evidence of your identity, skills and experience. MIBT will advise you what documentation is required. If the evidence is proven that you have the necessary skills and experience relevant to your nominated occupation, you shall process to participate a technical interview with one of MIBT's assessors.“Decision ready*” means:
a) all documents requested by MIBT are provided when an application is lodged,
b) employment statements conform to the requirements set out in the ‘MIBT Skills Assessment Registration Form’.
3) Technical assessment
You will be required to participate in a technical interview of your skills and knowledge. MIBT assessors are qualified Australian trades professionals as well as qualified building industry trainers.The assessor will focus on collecting evidence to determine if you meet the requirements of the relevant Australian Training Package qualification. This will involve a technical interview.
MIBT will discuss the technical interview requirements with you prior to conducting the interview. If during the technical interview, MIBT's trainer / assessor identifies any gaps in your skills and experience, they will be discussed at the interview and your options moving forward.
4) Practical Assessment
You will be required to participate in a practical assessment of your skills and knowledge. MIBT assessors are qualified Australian trades professionals as well as qualified building industry trainers.The assessor will observe the practical assessment to determine if you meet the requirements of the relevant Australian Training Package qualification. This will involve the applicant to perform trade specific tasks for the chosen field.
MIBT will discuss the practical requirements with you prior to conducting the practical assessment. If during the practical assessment, MIBT's trainer/assessor identifies any gaps in your skills and experience, they will be discussed at the end of the assessment and discuss your options moving forward.
5) Receive TRA-approved outcome
Successful If successful, you will receive a skills assessment result letter in a nominated occupation. Although this letter will be sent to you by MIBT on behalf of TRA this letter consists of skills assessment by TRA for the purposes of the migration regulations 1994.Unsuccessful

If you wish to have this outcome reviewed, please contact MIBT for further processes. New evidence is not admissible.
Reassessment
You may be eligible for a reassessment of your original outcome if you undertake additional training and/or employment to address any skills gaps identified in the statement of reasons of skills assessment result letter.
